Because the cost to produce a website is dependent on the size and complexity of the website, total costs can vary significantly, but because I only produce websites for people and organizations whose activities and purposes I admire and am passionate about, I have made it a primary goal to keep my prices affordable.
Total costs for a website can range from $400 for a small, simple website to $1,200 for a large and complex website. A good rule of thumb is to count on $200 for design work and then $75 for the development of each top level page; a discount is given for pages below the top level. Please don't hesitate to contact me, though, if you have a very limited budget because I will work with you to come up with a solution that is affordable for you.
To further make my services affordable, I offer free hosting and am also willing to set up a payment plan for those who need it.
Following are a few additional costs associated with maintaining your website. Costs listed as monthly can be billed quarterly or bi-annually:
- Domain Registration | $10/year
This is the cost associated with keeping your domain name registration current, which I renew for you on a yearly basis.
- Content management subscription | $5/month
I subscribe to a content management system which is very easy for clients to use. If you choose for me to set up your website so that you can update it on a frequent basis (which I recommend), this cost helps me to cover my subscription rate.
- Ongoing maintenance | Varies
Should you need me to make more extensive changes to your website than you are able to make with the content management system, I will charge in 15-minute increments and can bill you quarterly or bi-anually.
